IT'S TIME...

SCRIPT, SONGS, ACTORS, AUDIENCE, and ART.


It is time for our 2nd official reading.
We have a cast......An AMAZING cast.
People that are gonna blow you away.
And open your eyes just a little wider next Tuesday night.

So... our first reading last December gave us a whole lotta fuel. And this reading next week is gonna sky rocket us to the stage. Three weeks of auditions, lots of emails and adds, and we have 12 people who are singing our songs, reading our script, and doing it for the love of art. It is kind of an amazing feeling. And we want you there... to see it with us.

16-32 Bars of Contemporary Musical- A Cappella
Short monologue, poem, improv, or whatever you think shows us who YOU ARE!



DESCRIPTION:

We are casting performers for the development of a new musical set in Boston. It explores life in the restaurant industry, and the different types of people that have to come together to make a restaurant run day to day.

Book by Tommy O’Malley and music by Sonia Carrion.




PROJECT DETAILS:

We will be having ongoing auditions, with the first being Tuesday Feb 3rd.
We are looking for people who want to be a part of a show from the ground up.
We are looking for characters to work with and write for.
We are currently casting for the “development phase” of the musical.
Over the next few months we will be setting up readings with investors.
And we want to work with people who inspire us…

Male 40-55------Boozebag/ funny but creepy old gay guy – baritone (CASTING TODAY!!)

Male 25-35------Manager/ scion of prominent Boston family/ drug addict - tenor

Male 22-37-----Waiter/ musician/ wiiiiicked big slut – baritone to tenor

Male 30-50------Dishwasher/ Colombian landowner – tenor (CASTING TODAY!!)

Female 30-50---Busser/ artist/ Colombian/ devoted wife – vocal part flexible

Female 20-28---Waitress/ opera singer – soprano

Female 55-70---Investor/ former model – mezzo-soprano, deep voice, belter




CUSTOMERS

Female 30-50---Rest Guest/ large and in charge woman – contralto or mezzo

Female 20-28---Rest Guest/ high pitched/ sorority type – vocal part flexible

our cast is way bigger than your cast. don't get upset. it's just a fact.

that guy and that girl who live in southie and are writing a wicked boston musical

we're sonia carrion and tommy o'malley
really this is just tommy typing
but i'm speaking on behalf of both of us

we're writing a musical together
neither of us has ever written a musical before

sonia's a musician
and the stuff she's writing for the musical
it's blowing my mind
i'm writing the book, the scenes
it's a fun fun fun collaboration

so the musical
it's set in a restaurant
and it's got a big old cast
which is awesome
and daunting
and feckin sweet to bring to life

it's everything i dreamed about when i was a kid
i can't wait to show you all
what we've got
